Heroic efforts save immobile resident and her beloved animals in Old Town Spring blaze |

The fire, which ignited in the back patio and laundry room, presented significant challenges due to the absence of nearby fire hydrants, necessitating the use of tanker trucks to supply additional water.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the elderly woman trapped on the third floor. Demonstrating remarkable bravery, they navigated through heavy smoke and flames to bring her to safety. She was promptly transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
In addition to saving the resident, firefighters also rescued her three pets—a dog, a cat, and a pig—ensuring all members of the household were brought to safety.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Spring Fire Department continues to emphasize the importance of fire safety measures, especially in areas lacking adequate hydrant coverage.
