Spring Fire Department crews sprang into action Saturday afternoon, rescuing an elderly woman and her beloved pets—dog, cat, and pig—from a fierce house fire on Brandt Road near Old Town Spring.
The blaze broke out in the back patio and laundry room, with firefighters facing a major hurdle: no nearby hydrants forced crews to rely on tanker trucks for water supply.
Upon arrival, brave responders found the woman stranded on the third floor, navigating thick smoke and flames to guide her to safety.
She is recovering after a hospital visit, and all pets emerged unharmed.
The fire’s cause remains under investigation, as officials remind residents to remain alert—especially in areas with limited hydrant access.
Spring Fire Department also runs safety initiatives like their pet microchip program, reuniting over 100 animals with families since 2019.
